Dr. Lassen specializes in the care of children with chronic or life-limiting illnesses and their families. In addition, his practice includes children and adolescents with depression, anxiety disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, posttraumatic stress disorder, and a range of child behavior concerns. In addition to his practice with Behavioral Health Specialists, Inc., Dr. Lassen is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Kyle Roste, LSCSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and is licensed in Kansas and Missouri. He received his Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1998. Kyle has extensive experience in Family Therapy, Marriage Counseling, Addictions, and various mental health problems.

Kyle draws from his past experience in working as a Team Leader in the inpatient substance dependence setting at North Star Recovery Services, and numerous out patient settings including Community Mental Health Centers and developing programs within the Managed Care setting. Kyle trains Masters level therapists throughout the country in the Functional Family Therapy Model, through his position as a National FFT Consultant (Functional Family Therapy).

He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas Masters of Social Work Program. Catherine has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 20 years. She offers treatment in the areas of grief, trauma, mood disorders, attachment issues, develpmental, and behavioral issues. She is also a Level I Theraplay Practitioner. She is able to connnect with all ages and stages in a respectful and direct manner and is appreciative of all they teach her.

Catherine received her masters degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri and Kansas, and has practiced in a variety of clinical settings with diverse populations.

Audra Bell, LSCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Kansas and Missouri. She received her Master of Social Work in 1999 from Washington University in St. Louis. Audra has over 16 years experience in the field of social work. As a residential counselor she helped children and adolescents with developmental disorders and behavioral issues return home and to public school. At Shawnee Mission Medical Center’s mental health unit, she provided crisis assessment, individual, couple and family counseling for adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Audra specializes in providing emotional support for those experiencing infertility, loss of pregnancy, or stress related to adoption. Audra has personal experience with these areas and understands the need to talk to someone who has been there.

Valerie Rodriguez, LSCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kansas. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work in 2002 from the University of Kansas. Valerie has over 12 years' experience as a therapist with children, adults and families in a variety of clinical settings with diverse populations.

Valerie specializes in providing therapy for children age 3 to adolescent that are struggling with emotional and behavioral concerns, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety and depressive symptoms as well as parenting support and training. In addition Valerie treats adults dealing with adjustment and life stressor concerns, trauma, anxiety, depressive symptoms, mood disorders and family and marital relationship issues. Valerie has extensive training in parenting instruction, training in play therapy, and a treatment modality called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) that is specifically designed to help individuals overcome trauma and has proven to be helpful with individuals dealing with anxiety and depression as well.
